Climate and travelling times
In summer we have a moderate climate between 18 and max. 25 degrees. The sun shines for around 15 to 23 hours, which quickly brings the shallow Lake Storavan up to bathing temperature. The water is clear and you can see right to the bottom. The Indian summer starts at the beginning of September. It is short, but no less breathtaking. If you don't like snow, you can be lucky and see the northern lights already from mid-September.
Winter brings snow and ice. Everything is cloaked in a cosy white splendour from November to May. The nights get dark, but the midnight sun and the snow shine brightly. Temperatures can fluctuate from -15 to -35 degrees in one day. The so-called 5th season begins here in March. Snow and sunshine for up to 16 hours make being outdoors pleasant and varied.
Every season has its own specialities. Tell us which months you are interested in and we will be happy to advise you which period is best for you.
